CAKE SLICES PAINTINGS

These examples were selected from a set of twenty-two paintings that depict details from celebratory cakes. Most of these cakes were fond in the windows of backer’s but some I baked and decorated myself. On top of and blocking the cake images I added circles, an aesthetic influence from the microscopic views depicted in old science texts. I fill these circles with painted inserts of gift-wrapping paper..
